The ACE comes to Cornwall Friday 5th September 2014

6/9/2014

The commemoration of 50 years Since the last "Atlantic Coast Express" ran from London Waterloo on 5th September, 1964 was held on Friday 5th September, 2014 with Steam Dreams running the ACE from London Victoria down the Southern Main Line to Exeter and on to Penzance.  34067 Tangmere hauled this famous train from London Victoria tailed by a West Coast 47 to Exeter St David's where 34046 Braunton a rebuilt Westcountry Pacific and 5029 Nunney Castle took the train forward to Penzance.  This was a notable first  for a rebuilt pacific heading to Penzance where with Nunney Castle they remained stabled at Long Rock Depot until departure on Monday 8th September, 2014.
