34028 'Eddystone' works:
The Royal Duchy
Martin Scane, Paul Barlow & Jon Hird

The final Railway Touring Company 'The Royal Duchy' of the year ran on Sunday 27th September.

With the majority of these excursions over the year having been diesel-hauled due to the mainline steam ban, it was great to see 34028 'Eddystone' return to the head of the train for the final trip.

M Power Kernow serviced and turned the loco at their facility within St. Blazey yard.

HST to Plym Bridge
Ben Warren

I'd like to contribute some photos I took of HST power car 43063 on its only trip to Plym Bridge. This  was also opened to PVR members to come along and mark this occasion. 43063 was sandwich between our class 08 13002 and Sentinel 10077 along with a Mk2 TSO acting as a barrier coach.

The short-term plan is to couple 43063 to the MK3 Buffet coach which has also been painted into intercity colours to go down to the front of the site to be our permanent new cafe at Marsh Mills.

I hope you enjoy these photos.

Many thanks indeed Ben - an excellent job done on the power car.

Bodmin Diesel Gala
Day 3

The Bodmin Railways 3-day diesel gala came to a close on Sunday 27th. A fantastic event with plenty of mileage for those who like diesel traction. All locos performed excellently, although the overwhelming opinion I got from talking to fellow enthusiasts was that the star of the show was resident class 37, 37142. The loco was resplendent in a glossy BR Blue and was driven extremely enthusiastically over the weekend, making a racket along both branches as it was put through its paces.

Our congratulations to the Bodmin Team both on completing its restoration and for hosting such a great event.
