'Tractor' on test!
37142 breaks cover at Bodmin
Chris Bellett, Phil Wilton, Jon Hird & Mark Lynam

From Chris Bellett:

It was a busy day today at Bodmin General with lots of shunting movements in addition to the normal five train passenger service (I was signalman for the day so had a very good view). It was also a test day for the refurbished Class 37 (37142) which made several return trips to Bodmin Parkway and Boscarne Junction accompained by the Class 47 (47306) in the event of any problems with the former. Pannier Tank 4612 was also moved into the workshops and the Pway train was prepared for Thursdays action.

From Phil Wilton:

Hi, some pictures of 37142 out and about at Bodmin today in the sunshine. Resplendent in its new paint with 47306 in tow for load/insurance. Taken with permission.

Many thanks all - brilliant to see 37142 back in action once again, and sporting this classic look. Hopes are high for it to make its debut at the diesel gala later this month - click here for info/timetables etc.

Just about squeaked this before the light went!! This was taken at 10 past 6 on a glorious Wednesday evening. 66718 heads back to Lostwithiel from Fowey with the empty JIA's. 09.09.2026, copyright Steve Clark.
Many thanks Steve, very lucky with the timings.

Colourful trains at Dawlish
Clive Smith

Picture
The 175s are under the spotlight following their high profile cancellations and poor availability. Stringent testing is taking place with each set including mileage accumulation before each one is passed fit to operate passenger trains again. 175112 is near Rockstone Bridge at Dawlish with the 5Z24 11.38 Plymouth - Exeter St Davids ECS. 10.09.2026, copyright Clive Smith.

LSL Midland Pullman blue HST with power cars 43059 & 43058 pass through Dawlish Warren with the 1Z61 05.51 Doncaster - Paignton. Twenty seconds later and a Voyager passed on the up line so I didn't manage a going away shot. 10.09.2026, copyright Clive Smith.
Many thanks once again, Clive.

Great stuff James, a good use of your day - thanks for the photos.
