This was the third time lucky for The Royal Duchy as Tangmere came to a stand on Hemerdon Bank on the return working of the first Duchy and 60009 Union of South Africa ran into trouble with a hot box etc at Newton Abbot on the second Royal Duchy, to be replaced by a Class 47 for the remainder of the tour.
