Morning Keith, On Sunday it will be thirty years since Clun Castle ventured in to Cornwall as part of the GWR150 celebrations. Thirty years! I remember it as if it were yesterday. Two images attached, one after it arrived at Truro 11.30 and the other after it was detached and run to the up yard for servicing. 1Z47 ran with 7 Mk1 coaches and left Plymouth at 08.40, stopping at Par for an hour where the castle was serviced on St Blazey. The return train was 15.10 from Truro including a water stop at Lostwithiel. A clip of the Truro departure was shown on the 1986 BBC2 Steam Days in the Go Great Western instalment.
Hope this is of interest. Quite a coincidence that steam will be in Cornwall (hopefully) on Sunday as well.

It's 11.30 at Truro on the 6th September 1985 as 7029 Clun Castle stands at the Penzance end of Truro down platform. The 'black bridge' is well loaded and the platforms packed - a memorable day indeed. Copyright Martin Duff.
