London & South Western line
Andrew Hickson

It is so frustrating the London & South Western line is continuing to experience another long spell of disruption. Here at Cranbrook, the car park is noticeably quiet although surprisingly at the next stop, Pinhoe, a lot of people joined for the short journey to Exeter Central despite the reduced 2 hour frequency. And with the weather forecast predicting at least another 10 days or so of dry weather, it doesn't look as though the clay railway embankments are going to recover any time soon.

Bus replacements are provided at peak times to cater for the large number of college students between Exeter and Axminster. I spotted parked up in the forecourt of Exeter St Davids, an impressive new 100 seater Volvo B8L double decker hired from a Berkshire firm, Aldermaston Coaches, waiting for the return afternoon service.

Many thanks Andrew. Hopefully normal service can soon resume on this important route.
