43160 later became 'Castle-an-Dinas' while 43005 carried the 'St Michael's Mount' Castle Class nameplates. One of 43160's nameplates is included in a final batch of Castle 'plates being sold by GW Railwayana Auctions on 16-17 November with a starting bid of £3200 per plate (click here). Buyer's premium of 18% including sales tax will be added to the winning bid. Proceeds go to charity.
As of November 2024, power car 43160 is stored awaiting disposal at Laira, while 43005 was scrapped at Newport Docks in July 2023 - one of the first to go due to redundancy and old age.
