St Erth is now the temporary terminus of the Great Western in Cornwall. Damage to the signalling equiptment with loss of power to control the many aspects of railway operation has forced its closure for a few days. The barriers at Long Rock has been down since Friday and the old Mexico pedestrian crossing which appeared open a few days ago has once again been closed together with part of the cycleway adjacent to Penzance Signal Box where a large hole has appeared connected with a breach of the sea wall.
