37668 - in a past life
Roger Geach

The weekend saw 37668 visit Cornwall. Some may recall that 37668 was once a loco that worked off St Blazey on clay duties being based  down here.

37668 arrived during December 1993 and was allocated to the  various clay pools until 11 1998

37668 is seen with 37674 at Bolitho, east of Liskeard, with the 6m72 St Blazey - Bescot service on 30 7 1998

Bolitho was always a good photo spot with the sun right for afternoon pictures. Not always the case in many places, as the sun can be very much in the lens on the up road in afternoons.

It was less grown up in those days and a good place to watch the trains.

You can imagine the noise as 37668 and 37674 climb out of Liskeard, passing Roger on 30.07.1998. 37668 visited Cornwall on Saturday 04.05.24 and happily its partner here 37674 lives a life in preservation up in Scotland too. Two veteran cornishmen! Copyright Roger Geach.
Many thanks as always, Roger - another wonderful image and memory.
