Cornwall in the sun!

Picture
Please enjoy todays bumper selection of images, showing off our region in the recent sunshine.

Mr. Blue Skies
Craig Munday

Some divine blue skies and light added to some sultry evenings seeing light way past tea time!
Picture
On the 28th, 2P08 is seen crossing Angarrack viaduct with 43188 and 43092. 28.04.2025, copyright Craig Munday.
Picture
Also on the 28th, 66127 is pictured departing Goonbarrow with clay for Fowey. 28.04.2025, copyright Craig Munday.
Picture
57604 worked a test run from Laira to Long Rock via Newton Abbot and Penzance on 29th and was seen looking pristine at Brea among the former mine workings. 29.04.2025, copyright Craig Munday.
Picture
I popped up to Lostwithiel the same day to meet with the Lostfest organisers (18th May). The event will be greatly aided by the temporary footbridge this year. I popped into Milltown and saw 1S47 / 2P08 pass by. The mouth of Treverrin Tunnel is just visible in the background. This image shows 2P08 with 43093 leading and 43187 on the rear. 29.04.2025, copyright Craig Munday.

I've never been a fan of Voyagers. I feel on a personal note they stole away a great deal of the hobby from 2003. They have been reliable though, putting in extraordinary mileages day after day crisscrossing the Country. The May timetable will see the current two morning Scottish bound departures replaced with a mid morning Glasgow, and evening Birmingham New Street service. No more Voyagers on Long Rock overnight it seems. Pictured is 221120 coasting down to Milltown on 1S47. 29.04.2025, copyright Craig Munday.
Picture
Finally after work, there was time to pop down to Golant for the evening JIA departures. It was a picture postcard scene with blossoms in the trees, a high tide and perfect sky. The train approached just as the shadows were beginning to grow. It really is a wonderful sight seeing a train here, and It's such a shame the morning loaded clay doesnt shirt the river allowing pictures from the opposite bank anymore. 29.04.2025, copyright Craig Munday.
A great mix - thanks very much, Craig

The blue sky provides a nice contrasting background to the dull GWR green livery of the HST sets. 43093 and 43187 cross Moorswater Viaduct with 2C68. The clearance works on the mothballed Moorswater branch below are very obvious. 30.04.2025, copyright Jon Hird.
