69003 to Fowey
Jon Hird, Steve Clark, Jonathan Harbage & Andrew Triggs

69003 worked light loco to Fowey on the morning of 27.03.2025, becoming (to the best of our knowledge!) the first member of the class to visit the branch.

At Golant, the tide was so low that it was possible (in a sturdy set of boots!) to walk along the sand banks almost to the opposite side of the river, and quite a way downriver towards Fowey. 69003 slowly creeps out of the docks on the return working, with the docks complex looming in the background. 27.03.2025, copyright Jon Hird.

The train paused between Fowey and Golant for some time, so I sent the drone down for a shot. 27.03.2025, copyright Jon Hird.

Another pause at Golant where the crew 'detrained'. The first customers Golant Halt has had for a few years, I imagine! 27.03.2025, copyright Jon Hird.

With everyone back on board, 69003 departs for Lostwithiel and Penzance. 27.03.2025, copyright Jon Hird.

The loco waited for a couple of GWR services to pass by on the mainline before it was cleared to proceed into Lostwithiel. This stretch was recently cleared of vegetation, yet the bushes are already growing back at an alarming pace. 27.03.2025, copyright Jon Hird.

Thanks chaps. The GBRF route learners have been a welcome bit of interest these last few weeks.

Early Morning at Plymouth
Alan Peters

Early morning at Plymouth on 17/03/25 , being night shift I was unable to see the GBRf route learner in the daylight, but managed to see 69005 'Eastleigh' stabled in Plymouth Park Sidings, also the Down Beds hauled by GWR 57603 'Tintagel Castle' although I was hoping to see LSL 57311 before being returned off hire - Alan Peters

Many thanks Alan, apologies for the lateness in getting these online.

Following your recent references to class 47/57 liveries, in particular 47817/57311 (click here, here, or here) prompted me to delve into my own records, and I have found the following one-offs;
