Re: D1660 'City of Truro'

Here is 47076 at St Austell with the 1100 Plymouth to Penzance service on Sunday 20.07.1975, nearly 50 years ago now.
There is a smart dressed guy in a suit watching this train by the signal box - see enlarged pic - I wonder who that was?
It would be lovely if anyone has a picture of this loco being named at Truro on 08.06.1965, I have never seen any at all.
Probably the first class 47 in Cornwall as Neil says, unless anyone knows different.
I'm aware the 47s became more regular when the Bowaters clay slurry tanks started running in Feb 1967 from Burngullow to Sittingbourne as they were air brake fitted, and no hydraulics had air brakes at the time.

153311 with the 1000 2Q10 Derby R.T,C (Network Rail) to Yeovil Junction via Honiton.
On arrival at Yeovil Junction it then became the 1717 2X10 Yeovil Junction to Wilton Junction. At Wilton Junction it the became the 1858
2Q11 Wilton Junction to Eastleigh East Yard.
I assume that the headcode 2X10 was used because possibly Class 153's have never worked this section of the Salisbury line.
