The Golden eight weeks

I refer to the 4 weeks either side of the longest day as the golden eight weeks. The arc of the sun is at its maximum and allows angles and light unlike any other time of the year. Sadly, interest in grabbing the camera is dwindling with the traction on offer these days, cropped freight diagrams, combined with high levels of lineside foliage. I'm informed that a programme will begin again to address the vegetation. As for the traction, we are stuck with what we've got!!
We do have the Brittanic train to look forward to, and Mazey Day of course. Allowing us to relive the days of variety, planning not just one photo, but a barrage of pictures of interesting (non green) trains in the landscape.

The WSR Diesel Gala

This afternoon (05.06) was spent on the WSR at Williton where Railadventure power cars 43465 and 43484 were exhibited.
I also visited Crowcombe Heathfield to see Peak 45108, 50015 Valiant, 25185, and class 14 D9526 passing through.
Back on the main line, 66207 worked from Riverside yd to Westbury on 6C28 loaded stone.

Trouble with the 'sleeper'

57604 ran into trouble working the down sleeper on the morning of 05.06.2025. The loco had an issue with a fire alarm sounding between Liskeard and Bodmin Parkway, where the service was cancelled. The train then ran empty to Lostwithiel Down Goods Loop to clear the mainline. 05.06.2025, copyright Tim Hughes.
