50049 past and present
(plus a test train!)

Last week saw a light engine movement pass Cam & Dursley in the shape of 50-049. This was the 10.10 Bishops Lydeard - Kidderminster SVR 0Z50. 15.06.2026, copyright Ian Thomas.
As ever, I thought I pictured the same machine in the dim distant past and here it is about half a mile further north passing Lapley Cutting with the 11.15. Plymouth-Manchester working 1M22...on 29-04-82..This was the last month for many North-East / Southwest locomotive hauled services before the extensive HST timetable was introduced in May 1982. Mick House
She's coming back to Cornwall, Loram Rail Grinder C2102 is making a return visit this coming Tuesday 30th June passing Redruth at 22.16 and returning at 22.51 via St Erth.
If you are lucky enough to be in the vicinity (keep your distance) when she is working you will be in for a treat.
I don't know the exact location that she is working, if you do please let us know.
Four of its seven vehicles are used for grinding/profiling the track.
