Bodmin Railway
Class 10 Running Day
Plus!
CDA Wagon movements
22.06.2024

From The Bodmin Railway:

On Saturday 22.06.24, the Bodmin Railway will be using visiting D3489 Class 10 "Colonel Tomline" to haul their service set. This will be the first time that a Class 10 has hauled a service over the line for many years, since the railways own example was placed into storage pending overhaul.

D3489 is on-hire to the railway from The Helston Railway whilst Bodmin's own Class 08, 08444, is overhauled.

As with most of its classmates, D3489 had a relatively short BR career. In 1969 it was sold to the Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company where it worked until 2001.

There will be 5 departures following the timetable shown below.

Also, subject to the usual caveats, the recently preserved rake of 8 CDA wagons should be out for crew training purposes, hauled by either 47306 or 50042.

A rare opportunity to see/photograph these characterful wagons on the move behind some heritage traction!

For more information please see the Bodmin Railway website - click here.

High Summer Trains
Craig Munday

Hi there

It's been a busy few weeks. Despite me believing I wouldn't cover many box shifts, I've had a few recently in West Cornwall which has been interesting.

All the best,
Craig

All pictures 7 June 2024.
Thanks, Michael.
