An update on the Severn Tunnel
Alan Peters

Picture
The Severn Tunnel has been closed from 3rd July until 19th July 2024 for engineering work where the whole length of the 4.3 miles of track on the Down line inside the tunnel has been renewed, this mammoth task has seen over 40 engineering trains from Colas Rail, DB, Freightliner and GBRf, enter the tunnel from the English side and depart via the Welsh side reversing at East Usk and returning via Gloucester, one such train was 6F36 from Westbury with 70805 and train of 'Falcon' ballast wagons pictured inside the tunnel on the Up line on 14th July 2024. Copyright Driver Alan Peters.
Many thanks to you Alan, there surely cannot be many photographs of trains within the tunnel itself! Not a worksite for the claustrophobic amongst us.

Nansledan Roadbridge
Craig Munday

Hi there

A batch of pictures focusing on the new Nansledan road bridge near Trencreek, Newquay. Also photos of 43186/187 on the branch on 16th. Thanks to the team at Amcogiffen for access.

Also included an image for comparison from 2014 with the class 37s at the same location.

Best wishes

Craig

Many thanks Craig, nice to see that the classic shot is still possible for now and equally very nice to see the 'new' shot which the bridge has enabled (assuming they provide a pavement!).
