The Flying Scotsman
At the West Somerset Railway
Jonathan Harbage

Today 13/07/25 I went on the rearranged Flying Scotsman. It was cancelled on Friday due to operational issues at the WSR. Here is 60103 and returning engine D6656. A wonderful day.

Really glad you got to enjoy your trip, Jonathan - just a day late. Thanks for the photos.

Unusual Combination
On The South Devon Railway
Clive Smith

Picture
The previous day the South Devon Railway had a steam only working but the Sunday saw the GWR 0-6-0 pannier 1369 assisted by resident rat 25262 though the 25 was doing most of the work with the odd whistle, clank and chuff from 1369. I expect the customers who had paid for the Sunday Lunch train would have been somewhat disappointed with just a 'box on wheels' on the front of their train. Presumably the SDR are reviewing the running of steam due to the dry conditions nationwide though rain is forecast for Devon this week. The pair are seen at Buckfastleigh on the 10.30 Buckfastleigh - Totnes. 13.07.2025, copyright Clive Smith.
Picture
The unlikely pair are seen at Totnes on the 11.20 Totnes Littlehempston - Buckfastleigh. The two locos ran round separately at Totnes with 1369 taking on water there as the water tank at Buckfastleigh has been malfunctioning. 13.07.2025, copyright Clive Smith.
Many thanks, Clive - the dry weather certainly brings its advantages to diesel enthusiasts in particular!

47306 Running Day
Steve Clark

Picture
Another Diesel day at Bodmin and another day that I was working, although the job I had meant that I could get out and see the majority of the trains. The heatwave finally arrived in Cornwall on Thursday after a few days of heavy cloud and Saturday was cloudless skies all day. 47306 'The Sapper' was given a run out and the RFD liveried Class 47 is seen about to pass under the A38 having just departed from Colesloggett Halt on the 10.30 departure from Bodmin General Since I have been in Cornwall these are my first sunny shots of 47306 at the 4th attempt!!! Nice to see Mark Lynam out and about. 12.07.2025, copyright Steve Clark.

After completing my driving for the day at 12.30 I was then on a 'paid break' til 2pm and I managed to pop out to Bodmin Parkway and see the 13.32 arrival which was the 13.15 off Bodmin General. 12.07.2025, copyright Steve Clark.
