Yesterdays shot from Roger of a Western at Penzance shed on 04.01.1976 (with the chimney in front) can be confirmed as D1065 Western Consort.

D1065 is also in the next photo to the left of the peak which may well be either 45058 or 45061. Both these locos featured split headcode boxes and were working in Cornwall over the new year period.

The Pathfinder Farewell Tour

Hello, David Roberts here from Lancashire, your excellent website had pictures of the Western on the pathfinder farewell and I thought you might like these at the halfway point on the trip, Leyland station, Lostock hall junction (where the headboard was changed for an identical one to be auctioned on the train), leaving with a smokey! departure and racing through rishton, sounding superb.
