Westbury
        to Salisbury
     Terry Waldron

Warminster to Salisbury.  This section of metals in paticular which had sparse coverage until now has been greatly enhanced by the additional information and illustrations very kindly supplied by Terry Waldron, an expert on the line.  Terry has written a book on the subject of Wishford station and the history of the line which covers the stretch from Tingley Junction through to Salisbury. Some of the photographs within the book have been reproduced on the website but others subject to copyright restrictions are only within the covers of Terry’s book.
Terry asks please get in contact that should you have any additional information and maybe photographs which you would like to share.
So take a look and enjoy:-  Click here for the full selection.

The Northern Belle
Runs from Swindon to Swindon via Plymouth
David Tozer & Roger Winnen

Luxury travel was the order of the day as passengers enjoyed a return journey from Swindon to Swindon via Plymouth. No doubt with the full silver service which is provided on these beautiful restored BR coaches in their spender of the Great Western Chocolate and Cream livery.
The train departed Swindon at 12.35 arriving Plymouth at 16.02 and remained until 16.16 going back to Swindon arriving at 19.47
