Launceston St Stephens. A very colorful view of Launceston's stations - in the foreground is the Southern Goods yard, then the entrance to the Southern station. The back of the above postcard. It is interesting to note that Kelly is a small hamlet about 4 1/2 miles east of Launceston, Lifton post office is about 4 miles from Launceston. but 2 1/2 from Kelly. One wonders how long the delivery would have taken? Did it go by train? Alan Harris collection

Roskear Junction Signal Box, the year is about 1964 ish. Reg Eva was the regular signalman at that time. It is taken before barriers replaced the gates and shows the gate wheel and ratchet. Here, probably just before World War 2, 3313 'Jupiter' is about to pilot an up service from Kingswear. Mike Morant, from whose collection this view comes informs us :- This loco was a rebuild from Dean Duke number 3318 with the same name and was withdrawn from service at Newton Abbot in April 1946.
