'Lion' had Cornish connections in that it was the first of the 50's seen in Cornwall, it was sent from 'up north' to the South West for driver experience. This was sometime before it gained the name. Note the sad state of the station, there is already a boat parked nearby, the cable ducting in a credit to those who laid it - 'straight as a die' '50027 still 'roars' being based in preservation on the Mid Hants Railway.
