Clay and Cement
a good mix.
Craig Munday

Hi Keith, A return to the sizzling weather and the clay & cement were caught in the wonderful Cornish countryside. The rich farmland around Tywardreath contrasting with the forest in the Glynn Valley, and onward to the industrial port of Carne Point, with huge clay vessels rubbing shoulders with pleasure crafts.
Cheers,  Craig  Many thanks Craig

I am rather spoilt for choice here - its is a spot I always look out for on the Westbury to Salisbury run.  A smashing house and that superb livery of South West trains. Personally I don't think you can beat that livery. Many thanks to Terry for sending in these pictures taken yesterday.  KJ
Camborne Footbridge open again for business.
Roger Winnen

After nearly six months of restoration Camborne Footbridge looking very smart reopened at the end of June for pedestrians, making the temporary bridge of 31 steps redundant. This bridge was built in 1940 by the Patent Shaft & Axletree Co, Ltd. Wednesbury.
Also of interest is a brick at ground level by the booking office door inscribed Joseph Hamblet 1894 West Bromwich. Joseph Hamblet died on 12th May, 1894, the business then being passed over to his son. After extensive test Hamblets Bricks were proved to be the best. Most probably the station buildings on the upside were constructed shortly after that date!

LMSR Ivatt designed 'Mickey Mouse' 2MT 2-6-2T no. 41295 between Lymington's Pier and Town stations at some time in 1966. 41295 was built at Crewe in 1951 and so was never anything other than a BR engine. Not only that but it spent its entire further working life allocated to Southern depots ending up as a Bournemouth allocated loco from November 1964 until withdrawal in April 1967.
