40025 seen here at Rattery summit on full throttle crawling up the bank. The engine's sound was incredible and could be heard ages before it eventually passed us. One of my favourite photographs taken at 1/125 of a second at F4 exposure. If it had been going any faster the shot would have been impossible. 19th September 1982 Copyright Clive Smith

47709 passes through a very sunny Seaton Junction on the afternoon of 24th May 1993, with 2V13, the 1258 Sundays Waterloo to Exeter.
Regrettably, a scene changed totally to that I remember of my first visit, way back in June 1964.
