A question from Sid Sponheimer - when did the Royal Train conveying Prince Charles and powered by two class 31's visit Newquay. Can U tell us please?
The answer extracted from our website by Roger Geach in the articles section says that 31260 and 31265 visited Newquay on 3rd December, 1975.

Continuing back along the Newquay branch

A DMU has passed the outer home signal and heads into towards the terminus at Newquay. Copyright Sid Sponheimer

From the red tail lamp it would seem that the DMU is Newquay bound and the lady was a passenger on it. Copyright Sid Sponheimer

No suggestion as to which direction the train is going or its purpose. This could well be a tip and toe working. It appears to attract some attention from orange jacketed onlookers and station staff. Copyright Sid Sponheimer
