 Exeter Spring Running Day
A Memorium to Philip Platt
Roger Winnen

Sunday 19th March,2017 was a running day organised to commemorate the  proposed closure of Exeter Bus and Coach Station, and to remember the tremendous contribution of Philip Platt 1948-2016 to the preservation movement. For the many thousands of passengers who pass through the city's bus station each week, a change of scene is coming. This two level bus station has been with us since July 1964 over 50 years and it is shortly to close, the site being redeveloped, with a more compact bus station to be built as a modern replacement
This event was Organised by the Devon General Omnibus Trust (DGOT) in association with Stagecoach South West

Okehampton to London
-  GWR did a fantastic job to recover the situation and get the passengers to London only 38 late, and thereafter everything went like clockwork. I've put a short report on our website at http://www.dartmoor-railway-sa.org/news and I wonder if you might like to publish the link.

Dear Keith Barrow. Nice photo, but I would just like to put you on the right track (no pun intended) unfortunately the two skates in your photo are actually trailers and are used for transporting tools and materials to and from work sites by excavators when in a possession, as you will see in the first photo below.
Looking at the second photo below you will see a skate fitted to the wheel on a carriage, out of shot on the opposite wheel is another and they are used to move a train that has defective wheels, axles or traction motors.  By Mick House.
