The pedestrian improvements at Hayle station coupled with the removal of the very dangerous level crossing have continued albeit rather slowly, and now, almost complete make quite a grand feature which is more than can be said for the new Asda store nearby. Roger took a visit there last Saturday evening, his pictures held as more news of other events came in.

140614g On the approach to this bridge was reputably the first sand drag in the country. This would have diverted runaway wagons up a slope seen to the right just beyond the bridge. It is hoped that this feature will eventually be revealed. A plaque on the adjacent wall commemorates this fact. Copyright Roger Winnen
