It's difficult to believe this was 20 years ago. I drove to Dainton bank in my Triumph Herald, to photograph D9000 Royal Scots Grey on the Virgin trains 06.36 Wolverhampton to Plymouth service. I then carried on to Totnes, where I parked up and caught an HST to Plymouth. I then travelled to Exeter on D9000 on the return 1140 Plymouth to Liverpool VT service. Then travelled back to Totnes on 47851 (0913 Liverpool to Plymouth) There I picked up my trusty herald for the drive back home to Exeter. A remarkable day which was never repeated. I believe the Deltic worked from Birmingham and back.
