Loco action at Penzance
Andrew Triggs

Hi Jon

My contribution of today's excitement, with the latest Veteran Tractors to visit, and a bonus of 57312 on the Night Riviera.

All the best
Andrew

And finally, as 'Oor Wullie' is mentioned on the CRS site (the namesake of 37402), I've enclosed a shot of his Statue taken in Dundee while on Tour back in August 2022, so all can see what the cartoon character actually looks like! Copyright Andrew Triggs.
Many thanks, Andrew - thanks for including the locos previous identities too.

'Concrete Bob' in the far west

Hi, I'm not sure if this photo is of a high enough standard but I thought it was worth submitting. Great to see more 37's in Cornwall! I've never submitted photos before. Keep up the good work. 12.02.2025, copyright Tom Lloyd.

Ex-FGW Motorail van, NVA 96609 is no stranger to Penzance. It is now in use in the infrastructure train and serves as a brake force runner. 12.02.2025, copyright Tom Lloyd.

Many thanks indeed, Tom - some interesting and detailed shots, thanks for sending them in and great to hear you enjoy the website.

Views around Purton

I then moved several hundred yards in the Gloucester direction to Purton Common Foot Crossing where I recorded 1G17 with IET unit 802010 passing me with a Paddington to Cheltenham Spa train. 12.02.2025, copyright Ken Mumford.
Picture
1Q15 returns back up the Gloucester branch. I strongly suggest that you investigate the route and timings as shown on Real Train Times for February 11th - it makes interesting thoughts about its errectic timings and also leaving out the Worcester Tunnel Junction to Worcester Shrub Hill via Ledbury and Hereford section in order to reduce its lateness!! This happened to me in the past when it left out the Gloucester - Swindon - Gloucester section. 11.02.2025, copyright Ken Mumford.

I then stopped at the headquarters of the Swindon & Cricklade Railway and although closed I took this view of the yard. The boiler and chassis of 35011 [General Steam Navigation] has gone - I intend to find out more soon. In the background some rolling stock has been moved to behind where 35011's boiler had stood. 11.02.2025, copyright Ken Mumford.
Many thanks, Ken - you had a busy day.

43093 leads the 1315 Penzance to Plymouth past Dowgas, with 43004 on the opposite end. I do like this pairing - on one end, a low numbered/early power car, and on the other, a bit of a 'celebrity' with the Old Oak Common decals. 12.02.2025, copyright Jon Hird.
