175's still stranded
But a rescue plan is hatched!
Peter Murnaghan

The two dead 175s are still stranded at Liskeard, on the Looe branch link line.  I don't know what they would have done over the last five days if the Looe branch had been operating.  But that line remains closed until further notice, with rail replacement buses operating from end to end, unable to serve the intermediate halts.

Many thanks Peter.

A rescue attempt seems scheduled for tonight - albeit a very slow one! Click here for the RTT link.

Class 33's

Hello All, great sets of pictures on the site of various workings over the weekend, thanks to all.

Here are three pictures of class 33s at work.

One more Peak
Ian Thomas

.I had 45128 out of London Paddington on Monday July 18th 1983. It was a diagram that mostly worked Mondays to Fridays. The day started with the locomotive at Bristol Bath Road, it then took the ECS to Weston-Super-Mare to work a stopping service to Cardiff, then ECS to Canton for a service.

Then back to Cardiff Central to work 1A15 - the 0935 Cardiff-Paddington. When released from the stock, it then backed down on to another rake of stock forming the 1307 to Liverpool, 1M14, via New Street. From there to Saltley, and later working back to Bristol on the 1935 Birmingham New Street-Bristol T/M.

What a fantastic photograph Ian, and a great recap of the locomotives daily movements too. A lot of miles! Thank you very much for sharing this with us.
