Another suggestion regarding the pipes in Nancegollan Station 1962, could they be heading off to 'RNAS Culdrose' which is only a few miles down the road? Fuel pipes perhaps?
Many thanks Karl - presumably there are all sorts of pipes buried beneath Culdrose for servicing purposes etc. A good suggestion.
