Hello Roger, Thanks for dealing with the last pictures here are the last three for this week ,from Michael Adams . A visit to Cranmore on 21 August 1979 finds E1 32110 and Schools ‘Repton’ looking a bit forlorn. The Schools is now at The Bluebell railway ,Sussex and the E1 tank is awaiting restoration on The Isle of Wight steam railway. Copyright Michael Adams

Picture
This is a stack of 3 images of varying exposures. As this side of the train is unlit, this was the only way to capture it without burning the highlights in the image. I was quite pleased to see a bit of a purple aurora in the sky, not a hugely uncommon occurance when messing about with nighttime photography around the North coast of Cornwall, but the first time I have managed to capture a photograph of a train beneath such a display. 28.08.2024, copyright Jon Hird.
Picture
One from my way back home, the train travelled slowly so it was easy to get ahead of it. 37610 leads the way through Roche. I could hear it coming across the Goss Moor for a good couple of minutes before it arrived. A very high ISO/grainy shot but when else do you have a chance at photographing a cl.37 at Roche? 28.08.2024, copyright Jon Hird.
