5029 Nunney Castle is, of course, becoming a bit of a regular these last few weeks but here she is having just exited Parsons Tunnel pretty much right time today at 12-10. 23.08.2025, copyright Martin Scane.

Had “Paddington in Peru” been some 30 seconds earlier I would have managed both trains in the same shot. 23.08.2025, copyright Martin Scane.
Nice shots Martin - many thanks.

The SDR 'Rails and Ales' Weekend
Clive Smith & Sam Ryder

From Clive Smith:

It's that time of year again. Summer is in swing. The sun is shining. The beer is flowing. Plus there's a Crompton out. 33002 looks resplendent in a new coat of paint, this time with a bit more yellow for the 'Dutch' version of the Civil Engineers' livery rather than the previous all grey version. A great day was had at the beer festival and some miles behind the 33, seen here at Buckfastleigh and Totnes. There was even a beer brewed and named after it, 'Crompton Gold'.

Ponts Mill Viaduct Refurbishment
Jon Hird

Picture
After an extensive refurbishment, necessary to improve line speed ahead of the new 'Mid Cornwall Metro' timetable, Ponts Mill Viaduct is finished and has been 'unwrapped' - the scaffolding removed. The bridge looks fantastic with the metalwork finished in gloss black and the stonework cleaned and weeded. 23.08.2025, copyright Jon Hird.
Picture
Looking between the pillars of the viaduct, we can see the beginning of the rope-worked incline of the original Treffry Tramway. The ground has been cleared back allowing daylight to reach the arched tunnel for the first time in many years. 23.08.2025, copyright Jon Hird.
