Clay Empties
David J Ive

Picture
I'm sure there will be plenty of 66718 images in the coming week, but you may be interested in one of it at the start of its South West sojourn on Friday. Above is my image of it passing Langford Bridge, west of Newton Abbot, and starting the climb to Dainton with 6V72 1317 Cliffe Vale to Goonbarrow clay empties. I hope it is of use. 14.08.2026, copyright David J. Ive
Many thanks Dave, superb lighting and a perfect fit for load 14, well done!

Re: Southampton
Roger Geach

Picture
Nice to see Roger W's pictures around Southampton and other SR locations from 1976. I used to like to see the class 33's when I went to Southampton. Here are 33053 33062 light loco at the station. 17.08.1985, copyright Roger Geach.
Another smashing image Roger, many thanks indeed.

Warminster Thumper
Jon Hird

Picture
Whilst in Warminster for 'non-railway stuff', I looked on Real Time Trains not really expecting to see anything of interest. I noticed there was a 1Z81 due through in about 40 minutes, so I had a quick look on a map and drove to a spot which looked relatively clear. It turned out to be the Hastings Thumper unit on a railtour from Tonbridge, and it passed me here just after 5pm sounding excellent as it passed by the bales in the golden fields. 15.08.2026, copyright Jon Hird.

My train arrives at Platform 3, the 6V27 Eastleigh to Hinksey SCO tripper service, the Colas train has just one solitary wagon, 70815 will then continue North forming 6M28 Hinksey to Bescot LDC on 12/08/26. Copyright Alan Peters.
Many thanks Alan, nice to see some up-to-date images of Didcot - not a location we see many photos of.

Railfreight Distribution (RfD) liveried LSL 57003, formerly 47317, passes Hollacombe between Torquay and Paignton with the 1Z07 05.45 Three Bridges - Kingswear 'Riviera Express'. The train was again diesel hauled due to the current main line steam ban. The 57 carries the name Inter City Railway Society 50th Anniversary 1973 - 2023. 47810 was on the rear. 15.08.2026, copyright Clive Smith.

57003 on the blocks at Kingswear. Not the easiest place to photo anything so as the flowers looked lovely I went for the arty shot. 15.08.2026, copyright Clive Smith.
Nice photos Clive, many thanks.
