Hi Keith - the Mid Cornwall snappers were out too - myself & Mr Stockman popped up to Lostwithiel for the brief platform stop with 3Q55.

Night Owl is about.                                          Roger Winnen

26/6/2013

Roger Winnen couldn't resist the challenge of getting up to see the Test Train at an unearthly hour at Penzance. It was also very interesting to see the collection of DMU's in platform 3 - ready for the morning rush hour. I wondered if there were any other Owls about? There certainly were - as can be seen above Nathan and Craig had already seen this train at Lostwithiel, however Roger got his pictures in first.
                                                                                   Many thanks  Roger

Royal Albert Bridge - Progress                     Mike Roach

26/6/2013

The renovation of the Royal Albert bridge has been in progress for nigh on two years now and we've grown accustomed to seeing sections of it covered up and to passing through artificial tunnels as we travel across.  However, Mike has sent along several pictures one of which is below. As can be seen the majority of the bridge is complete and from the scaffolding erected around the centre pier that that is currently receiving attention.
                                                                   Many thanks Mike

Class 22 on the Chacewater to Newquay branch

25/6/2013

It is always nice to hear from somebody new to us and it was with pleasure that I received an e-mail from Derek Brooks who has some things of interest to us on his website.
Derek Brooks said  :- Dear Keith Jenkin, I am the new recorder of the Goonhavern & District Old Cornwall Society. I am uploading photographs of the above on our website on our gallery at
 http://goonhavern.com/wp/goonhavern-district-o-c-s-gallery/
I have seen some great photographs on your website and wonder if you would allow me to copy some relating only to above to our webpage.
As you will see I am copyrighting ours, and would do the same to yours to stop anyone pinching them, using your website title not ours.
 Yours sincerely  Derek Brooks

Many thanks to you Derek

In addition to the exciting picture of a class 22 on the line there are several others, one other new (to us)of Goonhavern and two of Shepherds on the Chacewater to Newquay section. This is the first picture that I've seen of a Class 22 on passenger traffic on the branch, one was used on the scrap trains
