Port Isaac Road Station
Jon Hird

Whilst on the way home from the visit to the miniature railway on Sunday, we decided to see what could be seen at the former Port Isaac Road station. We were greeted by the lovely owners who, for a small donation to the Air Ambulance, allowed us access to the site.

It was great to see it left in almost original condition. The owners have resisted the temptation to infil the space between the platforms as so many other stations have had done. The stations retain their wonderful Delabole slate edgings, complete with ingrained metal particles from decades of rolling stock clasp-brakes squeezing the trains to a halt. A real time warp.
A selection of photos are below with more in our 'feaures' section - click here.

Bubble-licious lunch break
Steve Clark

For the second time in as many days, I managed a couple of fots during my break at work. Didn't realise the Bubble Car was out, so that was a welcome suprise whilst waiting for a couple of HSTs.

Hello Roger, I hope you are well and enjoying some trips in this lovely weather.

Phil Smith's picture at Newport has encouraged me to send these two, firstly  Michael Adam's shot of 37131 on 12 May 1993 with what looks like an MOD train.
This engine was cut up in April2007.
Picture
Roger, Now my own picture of 37714 taken on 19 May 1999.
This loco. has been saved and can now be seen at THe Great Central Railway, currently in Railfreight triple grey livery.
Best wishes, Michael Forward.
