I saw the name on the HIitachi at Exeter St David’s and looked up Tulbahadur Pun. A remarkable story of selfless bravery earning the VC.
a 30 minute delay in the service resulted in a nonstop Plymouth-Penzance leg whilst passengers for the intermediate stations had the good fortune of a comfortable HST, 43156!

37037 was one of the very few that survived the CRDC as it was purchased by Harry Needle who returned the loco to running order before selling it on. We visited Wigan in April 2003 when the attached photo was taken.
