Sadly the sun we had enjoyed all day in Cornwall had disappeared under a blanket of cloud by the time the train arrived in our region. A drone shot of the service passing Restormel en route to Penzance. Copyright Jon Hird.

A few shots of the Midland Pullman following arrival at Penzance last night having worked 1Z62 07.42 Berwick-upon-Tweed-Penzance. Today (13th) I'm treating my Wife Pauline to a day trip on it to Kingswear and return, Living the Dream some might say!

Lunchtime at Coombe St. Stephens

Picture
The sunny weather today was too nice to ignore, so I took a trip over to Coombe on my lunch break. 43097 heads a GWR service across the viaduct heading for Penzance. At least I got one HST in sun today! 12.04.24, copyright Jon Hird.

Running close behind the HST above was this Colas track machine running as 6J83 0934 Bristol Kingsland Rd S&Te to Truro Yard. The addition of the Cornish Main Line (as far as Truro) to Open Train Times signalling website has made photographing trains much easier when working to time constraints. 12.04.24, copyright Jon Hird.

5 happy minutes on the bridge!
Joe Birchall

Dear The Cornwall Railway Society

Many thanks for sending in your photos, Joe. I hope you don't mind us breaking them up and including the 'Pullman' photos in the earlier article.
