The 25th May 1915 was the last day of the Redruth & Chasewater Railway. The R & C was suffering from severely falling profits due to the competition from the GWR.

The Redruth and Chasewater was of four feet gauge. The two lines crossed at the top of Lanner Hill but unfortunately, due to gauge difference, no exchange of wagon traffic was possible. 24th September 2015 Copyright Mike Roach
