Queen Elizabeth
2nd

I am sure that all members of the CRS will join us in expressing our sadness in the loss of our Queen yesterday.  Such a wonderful lady who set a marvelous example to us all. The CRS have only one picture of the Queen in our library - this was on a visit to Truro.

We will all remember her.

Route refresher
Sidmouth branch
Colin Burges
Colin invites us all to join him as he traces the route of the Sidmouth branch using his now favoured transport - his bicycle.  Please click the link below for his fascinating dialogue and pictures.
in interview question once was "What's the difference between route knowledge and route familiarity?" The answer was drivers must have the former and guards the latter. Actually, in the old days, guards would have needed an equally intimate knowledge of the road, especially when working unfitted goods trains.

Refreshing one's knowledge of or familiarity with a disused route is another matter. After my refresher to Sidmouth on Thursday, I'd like to think I've at least achieved familiarity.

This may be of interest to your readers.
