'Seek and ye shall find'
Roger Winnen
For many months now I have been looking for the nameplate which was cast to be attached to a Class 255 4 Car HST Set, being St Michael's Mount however to date that name has not been used on a set.  Passing the sleeper lounge which had its lights on one could the the plate St Michaels Mount fixed to the wall. No doubt the other plates will be attached in due course to a Class 255.

Much interest was seen at Penzance this lunchtime when up to twenty rail enthusiast turned up to see 37425 Sir Robert Mc Alpine / Concrete Bob arrive in Regional Railways Livery work the 047p 10.48 Laira T & R.S.M.D to Plymouth Park Sidings via Penzance. This engine had been at Laira for the past two weeks after developing a wheel issue problem. It was nice to here the familiar sound of the English Electric Engine turning over whilst at the station.

Good Afternoon Roger I saw 37425 go down towards Penzance and took a photo of it returning through Camborne. Lucky to get the photo as Chun Castle was behind me awaiting the right of way heading towards Penzance. The 37 hastily ran through Camborne running a little late. Real time trains shows it as 11 late of St.Erth. Exhaust can be seen shadowing the trees in the rear as it sounded good no doubt trying to regain some time. Copyright Leslie Curnow

After clunking its way down west from Crewe with a wheel flat over two weeks ago DRS 37425 finally re-emerged from Laira with twelve round wheels to continue its mission. This being crew route refreshing originally scheduled for 23rd September. It is seen here at Totnes from the A381 road bridge. This working is 0Z25 10.48 Laira to Plymouth station Park Sidings via Penzance and Goodrington. Looking resplendent in Regional Railways livery, this is unlikely to look like this for long as the next day it will leave Laira for Norwich believed to be replacing one of the DRS 37s currently on RHTT duties in East Anglia. Expect a filthy looking 37425 fairly soon. Copyright Clive Smith

Summer seems a distant memory now and with the evenings drawing in and the clocks going back an hour in a few weeks here are two night time pictures from the early 1980s.

Engineering Works
Line Closures
Karl Hewlett

There are also some planned engineering works by 'Network Rail' which may lead to some uncompleted or retimed workings of the RHTT, I urge anyone who is going out for it to check these are: Salisbury – weekends of 10/11 and 17/18 track maintenance at Salisbury.  Sunday 25 to Friday 30 October Exeter Davids to Exmouth – Track renewal work between St James’ Park and Polsloe Bridge, a limited train service will run between Exeter St Davids and Exeter Central.  Sunday 5 to Thursday 10 December track renewals near Penzance and Redruth.  Buses replace trains between: St Erth and Penzance (5/6 December only), Truro and Penzance (7-10 December only).  A reduced train service will operate on the mainline in Cornwall where the line remains open.
Regards,  Karl (Friends Of Penmere).
Many thanks to you Karl for the above items which have must have taken some time to put together.
