Nancegollan Station 1975
Roger Winnen

These views of Nancegollan Station were taken on 11th May 1975 just 10 years after the line was lifted. The station was enlarged in 1937 with an additional platform together with additional sidings laid for the adriculture industry and wartime traffic to Predannack Airfield on the Lizard Peninsula which is still there today mothballed, later RNAS Culdrose built 1946/1947. Predannack and the Meneage area were involved in Operation Overload (D Day)
The site today is an industrial estate with only the bridges in the background still visible and the Cornish Minestack. The steel bridge dates from the 1937 rebuilding.
Many Thanks for the update from Roy Hart.
