Whilst looking through my 1970s images recently I found this which I thought might be of interest – Vale of Rheidol Railway No 9 ‘Prince of Wales’ nearing the end of an overhaul at Swindon Works on 27th March 1977. There was something not quite right about BR Blue on a steam loco, even if the logo was cast in brass……. The striped dome was of course a reflection of the skylights above, not a giant mint humbug!

"Now here is something to do on a wet afternoon" Andrew says.  However it's a lot better than that.
