At last something to look forward to in 2021. Our first outdoor event for a very long time must be a visit to Torquay 'Bygones Museum', Roger is already planning the trip. Train to Paignton, then bus to the Museum after this onwards  along the fabulous coast to Dawlish and Dawlish Warren.
Bygones - Torquay
Adrian King

Having just read the extremely interesting article on Falmouth Docks by Lt. Phil Boak. R.N. I had to drop you a line with regard to a visit, while in Torquay in August 2017, to 'Bygones' a delightful museum absolutely full of railway memorabilia. The first photograph shows one of their prize exhibit's a Hudswell Clarke Works No.1632 an 0-4-0 ST and operated as No. 5 at Falmouth Docks until 1986 when at the end of its working life it was bought for the museum. Mr Cuming the owner of the museum and lifelong railway enthusiast named the locomotive Patricia after his wife.

Bygones is a fabulous little museum and a must for anyone who loves the railway. I've included a couple of other shots I took during our visit of some of the displays and I couldn't resist taking a photo (so I'm hoping I'm not infriging on a copyright) of one of the very many photographs all around the museum which in this case shows a double-header racing through Brent Station with the leading locomotive being 7812 Erlestoke Manor.

Best Regards

Adrian

Langport  Bill Elston
I visited Langport today and saw IET 802114 working 1C72 PAD – PNZ crossing the viaduct, followed by the ecs sleeper 5Z50, top and tailed by 57604 ( leading ) and 57605. Note the reinforcing work being done on the embankments, looking much tidier than it used to be, also the bridge over the River Parrett being repainted. Best regards Bill
