A poor quality dusk and rain phone photo of the derailed freightliner at Eastleigh station. This has caused chaos with most services in the Southampton / Winchester area cancelled. A journey from Winchester to Swaythling involved a lengthy queue at Winchester and a rail provided taxi to Eastleigh station, and then a long walk.
The derailment took place in late morning and severe disruption is set to continue tomorrow.
All wagons remain generally upright. It's not a good season for South Western Railway.

N.B. Kevin's journey - Winchester to Swaythling took two and half hours as opposed to the normal 30 mins. He will be working from home today while the clear up at Eastleigh continues!!
