Perranporth
Ed Hooper
In response to a query concerning signs on Perranporth station Ed Hooper kindly wrote in :- Dear CRS, Whilst I'm afraid I can't add any photos of the station signs and posters, I am pleased to say that at least one of the signal box cast iron nameplates survives. It was acquired at a local antiques fair in Perranporth in around 1990 and given to my late uncle, signalman Charles Fennamore. Perranporth unusually had two signal box nameplates, being located on an island platform. I wonder if its twin survives? A similar nameplate from St. Agnes can be found restored in the museum there. Charles lived for many years nearby at Mithian, where he had an uninterrupted view of Goonbell viaduct. He is pictured here working in Truro signalbox, guessing early 2000's. Best Regards, Ed Hooper
