My final picture.66848 stood on the bridge at Coates - the last time I was here was in 1985 to see the the GWR steam specials. 16th August 2022. Copyright Driver Alan Peters. (A very recent picture from Alan during engineering work)
Picture
A brilliant picture of KGV at Coates Bridge Kemble, during the last BR runs. Copyright Alan Peters (Senior). A really classic view KGV complete with a gleaming bell - the heavily loaded telegraph poles really date the scene.
Many thanks to Alan and Roy for these views.

Surprise, surprise on Strike day.

Hinksey Yard Ground Frame
Driver Alan Peters

Some pictures taken on 14/08/22 of Hinksey Yard Ground Frame, which is now released by TVSC Oxford Workstation since the closure of Oxford panel. The Anett's key is released to open the ground frame comprising of just one lever to reverse the point from reception line number two, this a non passenger line so no point lock is needed, however when steam excursions call for water the point must be clipped and scotched. The yard is operated by DB and a good view is obtained from the footbridge that crosses the middle of the yard.
