Further to Trevor Tremethicks question concerning Goodrington posed in yesterdays news. Colin writes On Monday I rode on the Kingswear Branch and asked about the future of the intermediate stations. What I was told is included in my (for once) short piece.

Colins report is indeed sad news, closure of Churston and other intermediate stations really takes away a major part of the interest in the route. Surely the attraction of being able to hop off and take a stroll and explore the area or take a bus to Brixham part of the attraction. Thank you, and no thank you, to Colin who has been scouting around and found out the 'gen'. An excellent and as usual a most interesting and revealing report.

Some great late afternoon light from the Coastguards Footbridge which was reopened in March 2022 following an 18 month closure. 43088 arrives at Dawlish station with the 14.01 Cardiff Central - Penzance. 43097 is in the rear. Construction work will begin in September on the new accessible footbridge with lifts which when completed will dominate Dawlish station.
