A view from a bridge
Teignmouth
Clive Smith
The day at Teignmouth started drizzly and overcast with some large threatening clouds which eventually burst into torrential downpours in the late morning. Then for two hours after midday the clouds parted and some brilliant sunshine bathed the coast with some quality light to coincide with my lunch hour while I was working in the town. It wasn't to last and the clouds returned followed by more downpours.
On the down on the 18th May are 43016 & 43009 with the 13.18 Exeter St Davids - Penzance stopping at the station 13.34 / 13.35. On the up 10.50 Penzance - Cardiff Central due to pass 13.36 with 43093 and 43156. 43093 has a unique GWR livery 'Legends of the Great Western' and is named 'Old Oak Common HST Depot 1976 - 2018'.

With HSTs finishing on the Midland Main Line last Saturday culminating in the 'Last HST from London' GWR, Scotrail and Cross Country are now the sole operators with XC running the last lengthy sets and at 125 mph on stretches north of York.

Regards, Clive Smith.
