Five From Clive
Blue Skies & Blue Trains

Picture
(1) On yet another scorching hot day the Midland Pullman HST set is once again colour co-ordinated with 43047 leading and 43046 on the rear on the 1Z12 06.00 Eastleigh - Penzance 'Cornish Coastal Pullman' at Newton Abbot on the 13th August. Due to the ASLEF drivers' strike this was the only train operating today in the whole of Devon and Cornwall......until a Fairwater to Ivybridge High Output Ballast Cleaner rumbled past my house at 22.38.

(2) On a swelteringly hot day on the 12th August at Truro 43029 leads the 10.50 Penzance - Cardiff Central under Blackbridges Footbridge with 43005 on the rear.

(3) It's 'scorchio' as 150246 arrives with the 16.46 Falmouth Docks - Truro at Falmouth Town on the 12th. Luckily I was well hydrated after an afternoon at the Verdant Brewery at Penryn and The Front Pub in Falmouth. 12th August 2022. Copyright Clive Smith

(5) First Great Western blue liveried 150219 awaits departure with the 13.19 Gunnislake - Plymouth at Bere Alston on the 17th. This one of the two remaining blue 150s with GWR. Copyright Clive Smith.
A smashing variety from a period when for many of us it was rather too hot.  Many thanks to you Clive.

Many thanks Steve for a very fine selection depicting the works in progress at Dawlish and Dawlish Warren areas. Good weather too - if you can stand the heat!!
