Two from Swindon

60066 could only have its photo taken in a satisfactory way from the eastern end of platforms 1/3 because from platform 4 there was a lot of railway bits and piece cluttering the view. As it was this loco tried to hide behind a bush. i was qutie surprised to find that its engine was ticking over - to me this was a waste of fuel. 17th November 2022. Copyright Ken Mumford.
Thanks Ken - all the best.

Wheal Busy Crossing
Andrew and Diane Jones

Dear Keith and Valerie, I had to drop our car into Vauxhall at Scorrier today for some attention which required a 2 hour wait. The garage is only a few yards from Hallenbeagle adjacent the Cornish Mainline with a convenient occupation crossing and decent view of the railway.
Best wishes Andrew and Diane.
I forgot to say here is a link to Hallenbeagle Mine.   Hallenbeagle Mine - Explore Cornwall   It makes very interesting reading. The occupation crossing where I took todays photographs I believe was near the site of Wheal Busy signal box and level crossing, perhaps someone at the society can verify that?

This was the location of a down loop and a siding, Wheal Busy Signalbox was on the Up side of the this crossing right by the crossing. The sound of the bells and crashing of levers was once a prelude to the arrival of a train.
Glad you had an interesting  - the weather looks reasonable.
Many thanks to Andrew and Diane.
